Commander Carlyle is a character in gen:LOCK who is among the many high-ranking officials in the Union, and is also the leader of the Union forces summoned to Osaka by Brother Tate.
In the Comics[]
He first appears in gen:LOCK #2 as an obscure yet mysterious figure overseeing the gen:LOCK team battle his forces at a Union blockade surrounding Japan.
At the end of gen:LOCK #7, he gives out a televised speech to the people in Japan accusing them of reveling in "childish individualism" just as his forces, along with their "weapons of war" consisting of spider tanks, soldiers, and Behemoths arrive in Osaka, forcing Yasamin Madrani, Kazu Iida, and Valentina Romanyszyn to make a run to their Holons before their time runs out. However in gen:LOCK #9, the three including Cameron MacCloud, and later at the end of gen:LOCK #12, Julian Chase, managed to get to them while the war raged on.
In the last two chapters of gen:LOCK, both he and General Genji Anno of the Japanese Polity were both addressed by Yaz to work together in, using the exact coordinates given to them, taking down the Shogunate and finishing off the monstrous Sycorax once and for all, while the gen:LOCK team takes care of the latter.
Appearance[]
He is a Caucasian man with short gray hair, pale blue eyes, wrinkled cheeks, and an unpleasant personality. He wears a black top with a signature crimson outline and a metal collared underlayer underneath.
