Striders are a type of military-grade mech in gen:LOCK used by the Vanguard. A squad of Striders can be carried and transported by a transport, which can quickly drop or extract the Striders through cable suspension.
Striders were designed by the same team responsible for designing Holon, and the design philosophy was described by Rufus Weller to be "Utilitarian". Striders come with multiple slots for weapon attachments, which allows for a variety of weapon configurations that include cannons of different calibers and missile launchers. Striders are also capable of short jumps with aid of jet boosters.
Strider pilots are colloquially known as "Walkers".
After the battle of New York City, the helmets of Strider pilots were designed with the ability to be enclosed as a precaution against Nanotech.
